Northern Pho the Traditional Way (we have simplified the steps but keep the taste intact)

Ingredients
  • 1 Star Anise Foods’ HAPPY PHO box
  • 4 oz thinly sliced uncooked Beef* (substitute: thinly sliced firm Tofu*)
  • 1 lbs Beef or Pork Soup Bone
  • 1 Shallot
  • ¼ cup minced Ginger
  • ½ cup chopped Cilantro
  • ½ cup chopped Green Onion
  • 2 wedges Lime
  • ⅛ tsp Sea Salt
Instructions
  1. Step 1: To make the Broth: in a saucepan add 8 cups of water, Soup Bone, Spice Packet (in the HAPPY PHO box) Noodles. Char grill the Shallot. Add to Broth.
  2. Step 2: Bring Broth to a boil. Then lower the heat and simmer for 3 hours.
  3. Step 3: Add Salt to Broth to taste. Bring Broth back to a boil. Add Noodles and cook for 2 mins.
  4. Step 4: Take Noodles out of Broth and put in 2 big bowls.
  5. Step 5: In boiling Broth, add Beef * or Tofu* and cook for 1 min. Take out immediately and place on top of Noodles in Bowls.
  6. Step 6: Garnish Noodles Bowls with Ginger, Cilantro, Green Onion. Pour broth in Bowls. Serve.
